Our Story

2002 – Ornamental Fish Hobby

In the year 2002, I saw the first discus fish in Pune and was absolutely stunned with its beauty, vibrant colors and graceful swimming in aquarium. Discus Fish is known as King of Aquarium due to its popularity among Aquarium fish Hobbyists.
Our three bedrooms flat had become a fish house rather than for our family.

2009 – Discus Fish Passion

I quit my job in 2009 and planned for setting up commercial breeding and growing discus fishes. Rented a separate flat and started to breed, grow and sell discus fishes.
The turning point was when I got to know of MPEDA subsidy scheme for ornamental fish farm in the year 2012. I purchased land near a lake and planned a constructed of 1400 sqft farmhouse cum Discus fish hatchery at Wadachiwadi (undri area) Pune.

2012 – MPEDA-Ornamental Fish Farm Subsidy Scheme

I applied for the MPEDA ornamental fish farm grade 3-unit subsidy scheme, after which Mr. Anil Kumar – Deputy Director MPEDA (Maharashtra, year 2012) himself along with Mr. Mangesh Gawde – Programme manager MPEDA came for the scrutiny of the Discus fish farm and they approved grade 3 unit.

2014 – Discus Farm Shifted at Taloja MIDC near Mumbai – 2014

Setting up our discus fish infrastructure and the results at Taloja MIDC (2014), Mumbai was the start of being able to dream of large-scale Discus fish farm with ample water.

In a year’s time we could make a name for our brand of discus in Mumbai and other major Indian cities.

2015 – Discus Farm Shifting To Wakrul Village, Raigad.

The next plan (2015) was to shift our discus fish farm to Wakrul village (Taluka Pen, District Raigad) as the water supply at Taloja Midc was not adequate and consistent.

We got on lease three different places for our discus fish farm nearby to each location.

1) Discus breeding and fry growing.
2) Discus fish sales and packing.
3) Quarantine unit.
